Learning to create and appreciate visual art is important to the development of the next generation of children as they grow up. Holding a paintbrush or scribbling with a crayon is essential to the growth of fine motor skills in young children. Art, for very young children, provides opportunities to learn colors, shapes and words. America's for the Arts reports that art education strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Drawing, painting and sculpting, all develop visual-spatial skills which is essential for elementary school age children. I have requested 30 smocks for my students. These are sturdy, easy to use and they protect the children's clothes when painting, working with clay or making slime out of glue. They are designed for older children; ages 8 to 14. They're made of quality, blue denim with adjustable stitched-on ties. My students will feel like they are true artists! I thank you in advance for your generous donation and commitment to education.
