As schools become more technologically advanced, our students need access to the same technology that their typical peers have access to. Most classes have iPads, Chromebooks and Smartboards to access learning programs and testing applications that they use on a daily basis. Our Transition Kindergarten students need access to technology, so that our students go into Kindergarten knowing how to navigate these items and be able to have practiced and learned how to use them. Some students have access to all the technology in the world, but for many of my students, access to technology is not available to them. Families use those funds for therapies needed to assist their child in being the best they can, so exposure in the classroom is a must! This grant will give my students the opportunity to learn in various ways and to be able to work with peers on these devices.
