Every child is unique in their learning techniques. Some students move at a faster pace while others take time to process new information. Through five years of teaching, I have found that students do not succeed as well while using a "one-size-fits-all" approach. The best resource I have used to help differentiate instruction for every student in the classroom has been Chromebooks. I have utilized Chromebooks in the past to help set students on an individualized learning paths to great success. Students get exactly what they need and can work at the pace that works for them. There are some amazing programs out there that can only be accessed by a computer and one computer lab time per week won't supplement the accelerated learning that my students need. These Chromebooks would be utilized daily to ensure that students are receiving adequate blended learning time in addition to the amazing classroom instruction. Some students will be able to use these Chromebooks to work on more advanced subject work while others will be able to use them to catch up on material that they were not able to master in the past. While nothing can replace good classroom instruction, Chromebooks (when utilized correctly) can be an amazing tool for teachers to use to enhance their instruction and I would be grateful if you could help me, my students, and my future students.
