My GT students love technology and they teach me something new every day. Our school is not a 1:1 technology school. Each day I have to search the school for chromebooks other teachers aren't using in their content classroom. There are many days that all of our available chromebooks are being used elsewhere and I have to revise my plans. Some days, I feel like a stalker!
Having my own designated chromebooks will allow me to arrive at class knowing I have the tools ready to challenge my students and plan activities without worrying about the availability of technology. Last year we learned about coding, took virtual field trips, researched natural disasters and more. This year I have big plans for them. Having readily available chromebooks will let them dive right in and get started the moment they walk through my door. There are so many resources out there that are perfectly suited for my bright, inquisitive students. With ready-made technology waiting for them each day, the sky is the limit this year.
