Although I've always loved science, it was a challenging subject for me as a student. Now that I'm a science teacher, I like to look back and reflect on what I remember most about my classes. I remember my teachers, topics we discussed; but my favorite memory has to be all the cool projects and labs we got to do. Not only was it was fun- but it helped me to better understand how something worked and why it was important. As a 6th-grade science teacher, my biggest goal is to strengthen my kids' interest in science by helping them feel connected to it. We are all primarily visual learners, and if my kids get to see and feel models, they are simply more likely to learn. Once they've had the opportunity to engage with visuals, they are better prepared to design their own model and develop a deeper understanding of the content. The requested Orbiter, plant and animal cells, and fossils will be their visual models to help them create their own models using the air-dry clay, modeling clay, and pipe cleaners. I hope you will support me in supporting the learning of my students. Having access to these visuals and materials will make science more engaging!
