I want my students to have books that will whisk them away from the classroom and into the Supreme Court with Ruth Bader Ginsburg or discover shapes and colors while learning more about Muslim culture. I want my students to read about Malala Yousafzai and be inspired to change the world. I want my students to see characters that are as diverse as our own classroom community and be proud of their differences. I want my students read about the STEM adventures of Iggy Peck and Ada Twist and be inspired to create. My students deserve a classroom library that is reflective of their interests and expands their horizons.
