Working with students facing poverty, one of the most vital ways to make an impact, in my opinion, is developing a love for reading. What better way than to do that with Wonder by R.J.Palacio. Wonder is a powerful story of Empathy that I would love to share with my students. The book teaches the students about kindness, love, hope and family, which are lessons that we can all benefit from. This will therefore not only make a difference in the academic lives of my students but in the social-emotional lives as well. For these students, books are not an easy thing to come by, and for most, they are only exposed to them at school. Help me make an impact in their lives by exposing them to this "must-love" read.
