I requested an iPad and an otter box. The world for a child with autism is full of imagery, rather than words. On an iPad, a child with autism or other developmental disability can communicate by creating a sentence or even a story using a series of images. The otter box will keep the iPad safe. Being equipped with an iPad, the child can communicate with parents, caretakers, and instructors without frustration. Since the iPad is mobile, children with autism can take this communication tool wherever they go. Being equipped with an iPad my therapy sessions will be more motivating and will enable me to trials students with communication devices.
