We need a heavy duty mixer to make several dozen cupcakes at a time for this recognition project. Students will be able to make efficient use of their time with a bigger mixer. For example, our school has an outstanding band. Our band was chosen to perform at the state volleyball tournament. My Service Learning class wanted to recognize the members and adult leaders in band with a cupcake as a small gesture of gratitude for the band's accomplishments. In each cupcake, my class stuck flags with a motivation message. The band members were thrilled to get a sweet treat to recognize their outstanding efforts!
