My students will use the Math Bingo and Math Machine sets to practice basic skills in a fun way. If learning isn't engaging, they are not going to want to practice things that aren't fun for them. Teaching mostly upper graders remedial skills can be a challenge and I want them to feel successful and engaged without feeling that these skills are "too primary" for them. The use of manipulatives will entice my visual and kinesthetic learners and help them to develop math conceptual knowledge. Students will be able to create words using the magnetic letters and "Roll and Dice" games, which will develop their vocabulary and sentence building skills. I will be creating file folder games that will help students meet their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. The basic supplies that I ordered like the laminator and velcro dots will allow me to have what I need, in order to build the games.
