In August, my scholars and I received some basic supplies (pencils, paper, binders, markers, etc.) from Title I funding at our school. However, in order to enhance students' learning we need some additional supplies. Currently, my students lack the opportunity for hands-on learning in the classroom. Manipulatives help students construct an understanding of ideas that they can then connect to mathematical vocabulary and symbols. These tools are crucial, particularly for my students 2-3 grade levels low in math, students with IEPs, as well as the 12 english learners. With the opportunity for differentiated learning, all of my scholars will be able to excel in the classroom. The seating arrangement of our classroom is currently based on test scores and behavior and is frequently subject to change. It is time consuming for me and confusing for students to be changing seating without a flexible labeling system. Name tags and sleeves are a durable solution to this efficiency problem. With these supplies, I'll be able to quickly move name tags without creating new labels and save time in class.
