I teach 2nd grade and have 25 kiddos in my room this year. I also tutor 2nd and 3rd grade after school. During a day I also teach a math small group and reading small group that allows me to teach kiddos from other teacher's classroom as well. Currently, each child is using paper and pencil for all our instruction. Whiteboards for reading and math would be used within my every day instruction and my tutoring groups. They have the possibility to impact so many kiddos that I interact with each day. The best thing about the whiteboards is that they are reusable. They could be used for years to come. As a classroom teacher, in a school that does not have funding, most of the items in my classroom are funded by me. Whiteboards have always been an expense I couldn't find a way to fit in. I know the kiddos would love having a chance to show their thinking, express their thinking and share it! Whiteboards would allow us to do that ALL day long!
