The books in this project will most definitely build fluency, comprehension, and give my students a greater desire to read. Many of my students come to second grade reading one or more grade levels behind. These books will help them see a greater variety of literature. The books can also help students when doing research, which is a TEK in second grade, and give them a chance to explore topics they've never explored. A classroom leveled library is a great way to create a home to school bond. Students can even check out books from the classroom library to take home to share with their whole family.
