The listening center will help my students get more excited about reading because they will be able to read along while listening to the reader on the cassette. My students still need help on concepts about print and I think the listening center can help a a lot with creating a genuine excitement about listening to a story, which ultimately will encourage them to read. I believe when students are given the opportunity to take ownership of their reading experience, it can potentially motivate them to read. My students can then gain that individuality by having their own book boxes to keep their books.
