Many of my students come from a low-income​ family and don't get to read at home. My students would love to have an area in the classroom where they can move away from the class and get in a comfortable chair. I like to reward my students by allowing them to get reading time when they complete their work ahead of time. While other students are working, I allow the students that are finished to go in a corner and read so as to have a quiet space. My kindergarten class loves reading their favorite books. It gives them confidence and good self-esteem when they can read and come back and tell me what they have read. These students feel very special when they hear someone say a good job and well done. I just feel that when a student is comfortable in a space they will read and learn. I look forward to the students utilizing the pieces to read to each other in pairs and conduct discussions, while apart from the other students but in the same classroom.
