It is my goal to provide my students with a comfortable learning environment; and, one way to accomplish this is by taking the different learning styles into consideration. We have entered a new wave of teaching that combines innovative teaching strategies with preferential seating. I believe that it is important for students to work towards taking ownership over their learning and flexible seating allows students to do just that. Wobble chairs and lap desk prove to be multi-purposeful and contribute to this objective by allowing students to acquire knowledge the way they feel the most comfortable, thus taking ownership of their learning. We will use wobble chairs at our round table for small group rotations in science and math. In addition, students will be allowed to check out flexible seating as needed and it can be used as a motivational tools. Lap desk will be used for our technology station, partner work and/or reading assignments. They allow students to mobilize and comfortably work around the room. We will use white boards, markers and erasers almost daily for "check for understanding," warm-up activities, practice and fun games for test reviews. We really appreciate the help and I can't wait to show you all the progress. Thank you kindly!
