These materials offer the students the opportunity to work on a building project which requires following step by step directions and helping one another. These projects provide an opportunity for students to work together to problem solve and have the satisfaction of creating a working machine. Each of the K'Nex building sets provides students with page by page instructions that allow them the ability to work with partners and minimal teacher interaction. They provide an opportunity for students to experience, first hand, the satisfaction of seeing a project from beginning to end. These building sets also help students to work on skills to stay focused and problem solve when things are not going as planned---a critical skill for students with significant disabilities.
