Many of my students are not use to sitting in a traditional school setting. They are familiar with playing soccer, getting tons of outside exercise and helping out their families in Haiti. My students thrive with movement. It engages their brains and allows them to think more clearly. Research shows that many students have different brain wiring and we shouldn't put all learners into a box. These chairs will allow my students to activate their brains in a way that is helpful to them. This will help them learn the English language, get movement, and engage in academic rigor. My students often are silent throughout the school day because they are English language learners. When they are in my class I want them to be accepted for who they are and how their brain works. These chairs engage their brains and help them engage in language and academics.
