I teach a class of 26 kindergarten students many of which do not speak or understand English. Several of my students are receiving outside resources and are believed to be autistic and behaviorally delayed. My school is located in a high risk low income area with the majority of my students being very poor. I have requested this Inclusion class year after year because I can teach children the importance of treating everyone with compassion and respect regardless of disability or special needs. I can see how important this genuine interaction is for the children with special needs. They are given support and motivation from their peers throughout the day. Administrators and colleagues are amazed at the respect shown by my students. Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching these astonishing students. I am confident that by having these additional hands-on tools available, my class will be able to exhibit their enthusiasm to learn and succeed!
