Our school already has a gardening instructor and a school garden. We combat childhood obesity and the food desert while teaching environmental sciences there, growing many vegetables. But we need hands-on outdoor experiences for our little ones that are play based. We have one donated bathtub full of worms and compost. Now we want to fill the other with sand and toys. While a small group gardens without our Gardening teacher, others can sit under our little tree and use binoculars to look at our birds, others will look at our worms with the magnifying glasses, and others will receive the full sensory experience of sand.
