I have been teaching for 6 years. During that time I have noticed that many students have difficulty with reading. Many of them are ELL and their families are low socio-economic status. These students have learning and emotional struggles. This classroom library will promote a print rich environment that will help my struggling students achieve academic excellence. Books by Eric Carle, Patricia Polacco, Dr, Seuss. and Laura Numeroff are especially appreciated. Time for Kids and National Geographic for Kids are also wonderful to promote Science and STEM as well as Social Studies and current events. iI will use the resources mentioned above to promote cooperative learning across multiple subject areas. I will also provide students with books to take home and have a library in their homes This will promote a love of reading and increase parental involvement to achieve student and prepare them for a bright future.
