Our students come from many different backgrounds, have such diverse cultures in their homes, and speak languages other than English. We want the love of reading and the use of picture books to bridge our learning and communication no matter our learning style or background. Sending books home more frequently will allow easy access to parents and students outside of the school setting. When parents read with their children, our students' reading interests at an earlier age will increase and carry over in language development, reading, writing, and math skills as they progress through their educational journey. Having book bags, a book organization system, and some new books will allow teachers to ensure books are cycled and sent home frequently each week.
