The use of iPads in the modern classroom has become a necessity rather than the luxury of the past. These devices will connect my students to learners throughout the world as we study global cultures. IPads will provide my students with access to a wide range of digital tools and programs. This includes reading and math programs as well digital portfolios. These portfolios will allow students to both capture work samples and share them immediately with family members. What a great connection between school and home! Students in our district have worked extremely hard over the last 2+ years to earn the ability to become 1:1 with digital devices. They have followed rubrics and expectations to show their personal and collective capacity for digital citizenship, device responsibility, and peer collaboration. In the face of financial hardship and budget cuts within the district, I am determined to continue moving students in the right direction.
