The majority of my students, and the students at my school are low income. Because of this, I want to find resources for the classroom to make learning more fun for them.
With your donations, my students will be more engaged and truly love their classroom. First, you will see that many of my supplies are basic school supplies. This is because I want to ensure that everyone in my class has materials like pencils, crayons or glue to participate everyday.
I have requested math manipulatives that help create hands on learning during math. They can use dominoes and dice to play games with partner or groups during math centers. Other supplies like white erase boards will ensure that students are active participants during a whole group discussion by writing their answers and showing them to the teacher.
I also chose to include board games because my students are still third grade children who are growing and want and need to play everyday. Board games help create a positive atmosphere because the students have fun with one another.
After choosing my items, I know that my students will love their new classroom. The materials are colorful, useful, and will provide different ways for them to learn not only math, but traits like sharing, being respectful, and being part of a community.
