I want them to feel like our classroom is their safe and comfortable space to learn. My students come from lower income families. I chose these small bag chairs as alternative places to work. The rug will also be used for reading and independent work. Letting kids choose can make all the difference. At my school we do not have bulletin boards, only whiteboards in the classroom. I use the vinyl to make letters and calendars that can stick to the whiteboard. The students appreciate having the information on the board that will last and not get wiped away. I love letting them come up with layout and presentation ideas. They are so creative!
