One of the first things I cover in my classroom in lab safety. This is the first time many of my students have been able to perform their own projects/experiments in class. In our coverage of lab safety, goggles and aprons are some of the supplies listed to keep them safe. Previously, I have only allowed a couple students at a time be involved in experiments involving liquids because I do not have enough safety glasses for every student. Having safety glasses and protective clothing will allow every student the opportunity to be involved in classroom projects and experiments. This will allow them to develop understanding on a much deeper level.
