My classroom supports students with emotional impairments. I utilize a token economy to promote positive behaviors. On Fridays, students get to cash in their tokens (G Coins) at our classroom store. This has helped my students improve their behavior choices and giving them a buy-in to do well in school. It is also helping them learn to save for things they would like to buy and learning that poor choices can lead to monetary consequences. The items requested will help to keep the store stocked for the students. It will also ease the financial burden placed on me to keep it running. I have seen great improvement in my students' behavior and want to continue the token economy.
