The students in my school come from a supportive, diverse community. The population varies in ethnicities, backgrounds and religions. 41% of our students receive Title 1A support, while 69% get free or reduced lunch, so though most come ready and excited to learn each day, our students face some challenges before they reach our doors. I truly enjoy watching their growth and progress as the year progresses, and want to support all of their needs. Reading is visible and present in every content area, so students need plenty of exposure to a variety of high quality literature to help them become excited and invested in reading.
