A set of tablets readily available to students within the classroom will provide them with the ability to read digital books, create digital portfolios, videos, and increase their creativity. Students are more engaged when using tablets. This next generation needs these resources readily available at school. Most students use these tools at home and so a natural transition is to also use these at school. They will be able to share their own story. Digital books engage reluctant learners and challenge advanced learners to create a love of reading. Tablets will also allow each student to create a digital portfolio of their growth. In a small rural district this technology could really impact student learning.
