I will be using these materials to create a comfortable and engaging space for my incoming middle schoolers. I want to have enough pencils and notebooks so that no student has to come to class worried about not having materials. I have also added materials to make their learning experience interactive - a chalk board with colorful chalk where students can show off what they are reading during independent reading time, and see what I am reading in my own time as well. I also have included several packs of chart paper, markers, and Post-it notes that students will use to show their ideas to their peers. I have also included several books that I believe my students will find highly engaging in order to foster a love of reading and to provide books they will enjoy for their independent reading. Finally, I am requesting an air diffuser in order to ensure my classroom is a space that smells fresh and clean! As a first year teacher, I have a very small collection of learning materials. I am hoping to build this up before the school begins! Thank you so much for considering this project.
