My students will benefit from the laptop in that I use for everything! I use it for course planning, parent/student communication, maintaining a course website, creating and presenting content in the classroom, grading and record keeping, etc. My students will directly benefit from this laptop through the images, maps, videos, and up-to-the-minute information that having access to technology and internet in the classroom provides. Sadly, my school's budget does not have room to provide computers for teachers--money is allocated to other needs of our students. After one year of teaching, the digital divide I see in education is striking. My students simply do not have access to the technology they should. This laptop will allow me to continue to provide my students with access to digital resources and content that make learning more engaging and fun.
