I love to incorporate reading into all of my English classes, but I need a functional library to effectively accomplish this. I need Young Adult literature, Classic novels, biographies, sports memoirs and anything else a high school student might want to read. My goal is to help my students to think critically while reading material they love. If they have something they can relate to, they will be more likely to dive head first into the text and analyze it using different lenses. I want to cultivate a love for reading but to do that, I need books. These books will be used in PreAP English I, English II and Reading for Pleasure. Each of my classes will have time to read in class and have a beautiful classroom library will help my students realize that reading is universal. I want my students to see a library full of choices so they can travel into a different world and emerge a better person because of it.
