This project is so important to me because it gives the students alternative seating to help them continue in success! The items such as the Floor Cushions, Portable Laptop Table, Wobble Cushions, Inflatable chairs and the Portable/Foldable chairs will help in transforming the cafeteria into another HUGE classroom for the kids. Since our After school program takes place in the cafeteria (because of lack of space), we want to transform this area into another comfortable area for the students! In the past they had to sit on the hard floor or tables. Getting this would not only be a BLESSING but will give students plenty of different fun options to get homework done, hang out, and not have to sit at a boring lunch table! Aftercare is a time to get homework done and to have lots of fun! We have a lot of kids who have ADHD who need things like this to help them get homework done in our After school program. Giving them an option to wiggle on a chair or lounge in a comfy chair helps them focus to get their work done. Instead of stuffing them in the same chair they have to sit in all day, they can have different options that will help their bodies. This will help them continue in being the best they can be! I've seen just in the classroom, by getting them up and out of their desk, to just go sit on the rug makes a world of a difference! A difference in their focus, success and mood! Who wants to be stuck at a desk all day? Could you imagine how awesome aftercare would be if these students had several different seating options that wasn't a desk/table?! So much fun and so much learning!
