Through this project students will use the Kindle Fires to learn coding and app writing skills in a small group setting. The students will learn the basics of coding games and apps through hands on practice and application. Using the Kindles will allow each student to take pride in their own work and to be accountable for their progress, learning, and growth in this area of their education. This project will also increase the students confidence with technology. The elevation of their confidence in these skills will translate into confidence in their ability to succeed in second grade as well as in life. Frequent usage of the Kindles will give my kiddos an unparalleled ability to practice their new skills and translate them into many aspects of their education. After the students have learned the basics of coding during small group, individualized instruction they will be challenged to create their own apps and games. The Kindles will allow each student to take ownership over their learning and take their newly acquired skills into rapidly growing career fields.
