Human anatomy is a huge component of the IB curriculum and it is an incredibly exciting learning opportunity for the students, however, without models students find this unit abstract and difficult. The students have requested models to be able to see the organs and systems and make a tangible connection to them. Models provide students with access to the body in a way that will last a lifetime and teach classes far beyond the dissections as the models show human anatomy in a lasting and realistic manner. The model of the torso will also contribute to our study of the urinary, cardiovascular, digestive, integumentary, and respiratory systems. This will provide meaningful exploration of the anatomy for students to make lasting connections to the content.
