The materials I have chosen are to update and create a positive learning environment for my English Language Arts classroom. Research shows that students who have choice in seating, a chance to move, and are comfortable, are more engaged and willing to learn, which is why I have chosen the various seating choices. A classroom that looks like a relaxing and inviting place with rugs and lighting promotes a positive learning environment. A classroom that is supplied with materials (pens and highlighters) also lessens the anxiety of students who are embarrassed they couldn't afford the basic necessities for school. By donating to my project you are helping my students lessen anxieties, increase engagement, and therefore, be more successful in their reading and writing.
