My students love story time. They love listening and discussing the books we read. My students have a wide range cultural and economic backgrounds and the pandemic has affected them all differently. My Kindergarteners often do not understand their feelings and how to handle the emotions they feel. These books, games, and tools will help my students who are learning about their big feelings through a fun and engaging platform, allowing them to gain control of their emotions. I believe that Maslow's Hierarchy of needs will tell us to take care of our students social needs before true learning can happen. Through this year with the Covid pandemic I am seeing that this is more true than ever before. These books and calm down tools will help my students learn about their feelings and that it is okay to have big feelings. My desire is to help each student learn what to do when those big feelings arise.
