In my English classes I encourage my students to pick up a book and experience a new world that they may never have thought of. Students will use this library as a way to expose themselves to a diverse group of authors and the ways in which the world has been depicted through creative a lens. At our school, the students have access to a library but unfortunately they do not feel a desire to pick up a book unless forced to in class. This library will allow students to be around books each day and to help students hoan in on more specific books instead of overwhelming them with literature that is either below their lexile level or books that they have read several times. This library will also provide the teacher with additional opportunities to draw meaningful literary examples from.
