My desire is to create a 21st-century classroom where students are given flexible seating choices such as these adjustable stools to best fit their needs. Not only has research proven that ditching the traditional classroom seating arrangement engages the students at a much higher level, I am convinced that it could do wonders for my special education students, those that struggle with attention deficit and my non-traditional learners that need a chance to move and learn. Tragically, the majority of my students can be classified with great social-emotional deficits because of the stress in their homes, history and the community around them. I want to make my classroom a place where they can learn comfortably and safely.
