My students come from all over the world and speak many different languages. We are in a high poverty district where it is often very difficult to obtain resources to address their very weak math skills. 100% of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch at school.Each year my students struggle with basic math facts. I started using math centers a few years ago and my students love them! My students need more exposure to practicing those basic math skills so they can tackle the more difficult concepts of fractions, decimals and percents. I would like to incorporate a variety of math games into our math centers and my after school help groups so that students can practice these math concepts in a fun and engaging way. The math games will help to improve my students' knowledge about numbers and operations, their memory skills, and they will deeper their mathematical understanding and reasoning skills.
