These materials will help make a difference because they show students how reading informational texts can be fun and at the same time they are achieving their reading goals. The students will be able to gain access to the Scholastic website, and learn more information from the videos and slideshows. The magazines will also help build the students' academic vocabulary in English and allow students to practice the reading skills that are learned during our mini-lessons. They will collaborate with partners when searching for text evidence to help support inferences that can be made from the different passages in the issues. In short, these materials will help increase our students' English proficiency and help them in becoming stronger readers and writers.
