We've all been there. The teacher says, "Take out some paper and your pencil so we can start our notes." The problem is, you don't have what she asked for. What do you do?
Well, this year you can help a child not wonder that very question by putting supplies in their hands from Day 1!
My students need pencils so that we can spend less time searching the floor in hopes that one rolled just out of sight a few minutes before. They need markers and colored pencils to give their work that specialness that makes it stand out capturing the attention of their audience. We love to post work in the halls! Our kids tend to put more time and effort into work that they can show their creative interpretations of.
Can you imagine what it might be like to walk down the hallway of a school and see just.... pencil marks on work? Kinda boring... so let's change that with the colors of the rainbow!
Then there's paper. Seems like such a simple thing I know. But it's not! We all do our part when budgets get tightened, but, I hated having to say to a child, "I'm sorry that you made a mistake on your work, you are right that a new paper would be helpful, but I'm out of paper."
You can help make such a huge difference in how our children kick-off the school year. Imagine what it would be like for a child to walk into a classroom Day 1 seeing all of those supplies they need already on their desk!
That's inspiration!
