My class consists of both identified gifted students and students who demonstrate gifted qualities. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. It is in their nature to ask questions, dig deeper, and make connections to the world around them. In order to keep them engaged and challenged, I make every attempt to expand on the required standards as well as their interests. I never know where a class discussion will lead, what insights they may provide, or how it will all end up tomorrow. But I know that I owe it to them to support their creativity and thirst for knowledge anyway I can.
