Exposure to books of varying genres is a vital part of promoting literacy . It’s my intention to create a cozy, inviting classroom library space that will afford my third grade students easy access to a wide selection of books. It is my goal to have my students read every day for at least 30 minutes, in an effort to build stamina, fluency and to develop reading comprehension. This will translate into fostering in my students an appreciation for reading and most importantly improve their reading potential. Students will be able to see Reading as an avenue of exposure to new knowledge of their world and as a means of enjoyment. All this in a setting where they can relax and enjoy reading!
