Something I've always wanted is a classroom library that my students are constantly trying to grab a book from. After five years of teaching, I've watched students gravitate towards newer titles and I want to give them more variety of titles to choose from. As a social studies teacher, my hope is to also help my students be more socially conscious about the people in their lives and the experiences people go through each day. I hope that the books in this selection grab their interest and get them excited about reading. I remember talking to a student last year who said they didn't like to read because no one was like him. So, I want to create a diverse selection of books to match my students. These titles were specifically chosen because of the experiences of my students and their families.
