There are many sites and resources stundents access on the computer that reinforce what is being taught daily in the classroom along with life skills they can review independently. With a majority of students receiving free/reduced lunches, providing their own headphones is not the family's priority. Having their own personal pair in the classroom will guarantee they are able to use a computer independently with sound capabilities turned on. Independent listening allows students to focus on their reading and interest level without feeling inferior to their peers.
