The resources will be used to bring the curriculum and real-world experiences to my students' fingertips. They will be able to use the materials to develop their skills and knowledge and utilize them out in the community setting. For example, when we make jewelry in school, my students learn how to create, attend, follow a sequence of steps, learn patience while waiting for their project to be completed, design patterns, organize materials, advertise, package, and sell. All of the materials I have requested help with this process! My students learn in a variety of ways and need a lot of visuals, hands-on manipulatives, and engaging materials. For example the spinner will be used to assign classroom jobs, the looming kits and jewelry making kits will be used to prepare students who are not at the beading lesson yet to prepare their fine motor skills and working with their hands, the sensory lights machine is used to keep a calm environment in the classroom and to keep students focused and at ease. The watercolor pens will be used to create our gift bag tags, and the social skills game is very important for my students in general to learn how to communicate and interact in social situations. Especially when going out into the community to sell jewelry. The craft cabinet is for organization and storage, and of course materials for me to create bulletin boards with step by step information for them to follow is vital. We have a bracelet sale within school, as well as going out into the community to sell them.
