These books will allow my students to practice their Spanish language through literature. It will also allow them to successfully meet one of the requirement for the first few days of language arts. Part of the first few days of benchmark (ELA Curriculum), students are required to select a book of their choice and state why they selected that book. Even though all of my students will have access to technology, it is not the same to read a book on a screen as it is to hold it in your hands. Having our own classroom library will give them the opportunity to explore a variety of literature. Being that this is my first year at a dual language school, these resources will definitely give us a jump start. Students will be thrilled to have the opportunity to check books out through our classroom library and take a sense of ownership.
