Most of the books in my current library were hand-me-downs, given to me during my first year of teaching. As I look through these books, many are in terrible shape, and no longer hold the interest of students. I would LOVE to refresh my collection and have books that will excite, and engage my students! These books will be used for years to come, and assist me in making our library the hub of our classroom. Many of the books I have chosen are Sunshine State Readers, popular series, and recommended titles from my former kiddos. S Hayakawa once said, “It is not true we have only one life to love, if we can read, we can live as many lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish.” My goal is to expose my students to all the magic that a great book can hold! Our classroom will be a place for them to be inspired, to learn new things, to feel safe, and to grow both academically and socially. My classroom library is meant to be the center of our room, where my children can develop, or further immerse themselves in a love of reading! Many of my students are avid readers, especially when they find a series or genre in which they are interested. My unmotivated readers often just haven’t found a book they truly enjoy yet! I can not wait to see 23 faces light up with delight to explore their new class library! Thank you so much for your support of my students, literacy, and education!!
