Some of the best inventions were created through discovery learning. I want to give my students the opportunity to take what they have learned through reading and research and apply it to hands on learning discovery! When students are excited about learning, then learning becomes natural. The Stem kits that I am requesting will present students with a real world challenge and then give them the resources to build a structure that meets the problem solving criteria. Collaboration is key! These challenges not only put students background knowledge to work but they also provide the opportunity for students to work together in a group each contributing their own expertise. The skills that students will be using are exactly what we hope they will be able to do in the workforce later on.
